Filters and overall flow rate question |
|
|
|
I currently have a container garden with 40, 1-GPH drip emitters. When looking at the drip emitters on this web site it recommends a filtration of around 150 mesh. When looking at the disk filters, 140 to 160 mesh filters is for systems up to 10 GPH. Would using this filter cause me problems with my current setup? Would not using this filter cause me potential problems with my drip emitters? I am currently using a 50 mesh filter.
Thanks in advance. |

In reply to your e-mail regarding the right filter:
Due to the size of many drip emitters’ orifice and water path it is highly recommended to use a filter with a drip system.
For a drip system most of the drip manufacturers recommending filter with 140 to 160-mesh. Some companies may recommend 200-mesh filter but from our experience with many type of drippers the 150 mesh range is sufficient
Thank you for your inquiry,

| Thanks for the reply David, but what about the GPH rating of the filter? If a 150 mesh screen is for up to 10 GPH, wouldn't I have to have more zones to accommodate 40 1GPH drip emitters? |

With a 3/4" filter you can have a flow rate of 10-12 GPM
